"Unfortunately, a bad experience. Our hotel room was in an unacceptable condition. Various issues including the closet doors, poor AC, drawers coming off, etc, etc. I was told that the hotel was going through remodeling. They offered a refund which they never did after two months of following up with them. Enough said. : ("

"I would definitely recommend The Bantry to others traveling to Cape Town. The property is located in an area where it is safe to walk after dark and there are plenty of food options within a few blocks. The hotel is also one block from the beach walk and the tour buses stop a half block from the hotel. Our hotel room was spacious and we had a great view of the ocean. The staff was very accomodating. I would recommend the bar staying open a bit later; it closed between 7:00 and 8:00 every night."
