"It was a perfect place for us. We walked all around kiyomizu to kawaramachi area. They had everything we needed in the house. The only wish was to have thicker softer mattress on tatami futons next time. :) Thank you."

"If I could, I would give this place six stars in a five-star rating system. The hotel was recommended by a Japanese friend of mine who grew up in Kyoto. When I told him I wanted to stay in a place with traditional Japanese style, he suggested this one. "Very steep and narrow stairs up to bedrooms - have to walk sideways. Unable to take luggage up there. No laundry facilities although advertised. The location was convenient. "

"The house was everything i wanted but not so accesible to the train station, closer to the bus station but kinda hard to figure bus rides for me. I would stay here again esp if i was with a group, it makes tou really fell like youre in Kyoto, my favorite part is the ofuro, the bath on its own is so great and the jap garden."

"I enjoyed our stay very much overall. The property itself is very good and the staff is exceptional. I personally didn’t care for the location of the hotel. While nothing was extremely far away, restaurants were limited unless you wanted to walk 10-15 minutes. Last time I was in Kyoto we stayed at a small hotel in Gion, which was just more convenient for us, given our particular needs. "

"We loved our stay here. The room was spacious with the most beautiful hot tub and comfortable beds. The pillows were super bouncy and it was like a home away from home. It was so close to locals and encouraged us to explore side streets and local restaurants. We found the best Indian Curry house tucked away and hidden. We used buses and walked.
