"A pleasant boutique style hotel. Staff were very helpful and polite but unfortunately it was clear they had not been properly trained in table service and wine pouring. Apparently they have a temporary manager at present and it is clear they need an experienced and enthusiastic professional to maximise its potential. "

"Really beautiful place to stay showers are brilliant and bed is really comfortable would 100% stay again. Just as a caution be careful if coming in the evening time as some of the roads are pitch black at night and are a little wavy. But hotel itself is amazing"

"The room was clean and tidy & had everything we needed. It would have been helpful we’d been advised that there was an engagement party & live band playing that night as we were staying as we were running the Delamere Forest Marathon the next morning and hoping for an early night as we had an early start. As the rooms were directly above the music there was no chance of this! The music did stop just after 11pm so not too bad! "

"Chris and Val provided a great breakfast and conversation in the mornings and were very good to suggest routes and pathways to access the centre of town. The room was very nice. I would definitely stay with them again."

"Very large room and very clean but generally a bit tired. Weirdly no TV in the room, we didn’t need one but just surprised to find a room these days without one. Host very knowledgeable and welcoming. Would stay again."

"This is a terrible place for a person expecting a good nights sleep in a clean environment. I ended up staying in what felt a converted shed. It was cold and damp. The bedding felt wet to sleep in as it was so damp. I ended up sleeping in my t-shirt i was so cold. The pillows where brown and dirty. The carpet had not been hovered. The electrics tripped 3 times and i had to keep putting the switch back up. The tv didnt work. I had to keep getting up to use the buttons on the tv itself. The screen...

"An extremely warm welcome set the tone for my visit, yea and cake to start off with. First class service delivered by the marvellous hosts. A very well appointed room and en-suite bathroom. A fantastic house with a spectacular spacious garden. Minutes away from the Bird in the Hand pub and restaurant. I will be back for future visits to my family in the area. Very tasty breakfast ideal for setting up your day of activities."

"Very slow check in, card machine not working so had to write my card details down on a piece of paper (not sure this is compliant with GDPR). No iron available. Paid £15 for breakfast thinking it was a cooked breakfast but was only continental consisting of a box of cereal, a piece of ham, 2 pieces of cheese, rock hard crusty roll and a jar of strawberries. Drove 5 minutes down the road and got 2 full English breakfasts for £16. There was no shower gel and only half a toilet roll left for us....

"The property was in pleasant grounds, in an attractive village. There are a number of b and b rooms in the barn which is now an annex to the main house. The room had a high ceiling so was airy and spacious. The ensuite shower room was too. The bed could be a double or two singles so was large size and we found to be comfortable. "Only two negatives : Needs black out blinds woke early as too bright. Beds arnt the comfiest , I sleep on a flat bed settee so the crease was in my bad and so uncomfortable and flat/hard & pillows were useless, not comfy On the plus : Clean , modern , bathroom nice and warm (radiator constantly on in there ) . Nice neutral decor . Well equipped kitchen , clean fluffy towels , hairdryer/iron/fan . Host was attentive ,very helpful told us to call if any problems , answered phone every time....

"Don’t be put off by the entrance and way in the lifts are not very user friendly 2 diff ones needed but room was absolutely fine very clean and a nice modern bathroom comfy bed all that is required for a sleep over . I don’t do breakfast too early but there was an excellent choice . So that’s a bonus for a long day ahead . "
