"Friendly staff and good facilities. Near top of hill on main road into CBD, so easy 15/20 minute walk to CBD/waterfront but take bus or taxi to avoid walk up hill. Limited good restaurants in close area but OK for quick/burger style. Small supermarkets very close."

"Verandahs is a lovely old villa with an almost ‘posh’ backpackers vibe. Its a couple of minutes walk to Ponsonby Road and about 10-15 minutes to K Road. We stayed in a queen room with ensuite which was spacious and clean, with nice linen on the bed. Check in was a breeze and the service was friendly and warm. Definately recommend and would stay here again :)"
