"I booked the Novotel months ago, this was changed to the Mercure but not by me weeks ago. I received the customary welcome email 24 hours before from the Mercure. I arrived at my hotel and wasn’t able to gain entry - eventually someone arrived to say I’d be transferred to The Novotel. On arrival at The Novotel I explained the position and quite frankly the reception staff weren’t interested - no comment and no apology. "We booked two rooms for one night. Both rooms had large beds, good facilities and were clean. Breakfast was lovely with the usual full English and continental available. The only problem was as it was a Saturday night one of the rooms had a problem with noise from the street of revellers. Very friendly staff and the refurbishment is not a problem."
