Not so good was the staircase leading up to the rooms, which was steep, winding and with narrow steps. I appreciate this is a period property and it worked for me; however, those with mobility issues may struggle even with staff assistance. "The Red Lion was "going under new ownership" upon our arrival. We were the first customers. The facility was historic and quaint. The food was good although it was obvious things were just getting going. I felt safe and it was nice to be in a lovely English village for the evening.
