"Magnificent old building with large rooms. Always good to have a swimming pool at a hotel. Slightly disappointed by having to pay £15 for parking as a hotel guest overnight "

"Fantastic large top floor bedroom-no good for guests with mobility issues as 49 steps to the room! Lovely and spacious with free standing bath and separate shower. Cosy balcony with table and chairs. Breakfast was first class although menu a bit confusing ie-were you allowed cereal as well as or instead of a cooked breakfast. My only gripe was the parking which was first come first served (and one guest parked very selfishly over the white line while we were there) so slightly unfair that some guests paying almost £17 for multi storey car parking across the road whilst others don’t-therefore having cheaper accommodation overall. Would definitely stay again though and highly recommend. Great central position. Super friendly staff. "

"Great location to the event venue. The train station is 10 minute walk, it’s ok even with a heavy suitcase. Very close to restaurants, shops etc. The bar is lovely, my only complaint is the Sunday Roast not available after 5pm, this was not advertised resulting in many disappointed people after a busy day at the event. The breakfast was good too"

"Staff very friendly and welcoming , room clean and spacious and it was great to have the seperate shower .. Breakfast was spot on . Very close to town and we loved the location .. recommend the Blues Bar . Regularly stay here with my husband or a friend "

"We have stayed here before it’s a small but lovely hotel, I would recommend it to friends and family. Nice firm beds which suit me well. The food is lovely in the bar/restaurant, the staff are lovely and attentive. Only problem was we were told when my husband phone in advance that all rooms have walk in showers but our room is shower over the bath which I am unable to use due to my disability that means I can only wash in the sink 😣"
