Our room had the living space, which including a full kitchen, downstairs and the bedroom up, This hotel would be primo but the general maintenance/repair aesthetics are beyond poor. There were half patched holes in the wall without touchup paint covering the spackling, making the room look run down. On the upside, the staff was friendly and helpful. "Our stay at the Lodge Alley Inn was excellent!!! You can’t beat the amazing location that puts you in walking distance of all the downtown Charleston attractions. Our room was beautiful, huge, and very clean! We loved the balcony overlooking the courtyard too. The staff was so nice too! Highly highly recommend staying here!!!"

"My daughter and I had a studio on the second floor facing the street. It was advertised as each studio having a balcony or patio but no. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and we enjoyed it even without balcony. The building is older so you could hear the people walking back and forth in the room above us. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was friendly and helpful and the location was awesome. It was a very nice experience in Charleston. "

"Lodge Alley Inn is a lovely, clean, charming place right in the heart of Charleston's historic district. The room was as described. The staff were friendly and helpful. Important to be aware your room may be multilevel with lots of stairs. Also, you may not be communicating directly with the owner.
