"Service at the hotel was almost universally superb. The concierge and front desk were especially excellent. The only glaring exception was the breakfast service at the Eve restaurant. The service there was terrible."

"I was pleasantly surprised by this place conveniently just across from the train station. It was welcomed when I got late to Edinburgh. Their lounge offered a great view, had a good vibe all around and was extremely comfortable. One of the highlights of my trip."

"Slight delay with check in due to staff working in the bar and reception. The bar was Extra busy with a local rugby match. Despite this the staff coped very well, efficient and courteous."

"Such a lovely stay in this beautiful guest hotel! It had such a lovely home feeling. Very budget friendly and walkable distance to the city. If I were to make any suggestion I would say it would have been helpful to have a mini refrigerator with a microwave for meals. "

"Booked a 2 night stay then Storm Eowyn struck. We could not leave the hotel at all All staff so friendly and helpful, providing box games to play. Fantastic room and facilities. Excellent breakfasts"

"Lovely hotel that is ideally situated in a lovely square with cafes and restaurants within easy reach of the main town. Good facilities and it is worth having a castle view room. Good choice at breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and hot choices. Staff are friendly and helpful and went above and beyond for my 60th Birthday stay especially Alistair on Reception. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if visiting Edinburgh. "
