But three issues: 1) as per our Hotels.com booking we were to each receive one free drink per stay, but we didn’t and were never offered; 2) Amin as per Hotels.com we were to perhaps get a late checkout, but they denied our request for an extra 30 minutes; and 3) there was made available free drinking water but the bottles we basically impossible to open; I even cut my finger trying when the bottle top actually broke...

"Anyone who stays at Hemmigways, Karen, Nairobi will not be disappointed. The property is often used as a pre or post safari hotel. But I used it as my destination resort in its own right & I was thrilled with everything, especially the kind & thoughtful attention from all the staff. Highly recommended."

"We had a very bad experience in this hotel. At 2:30 am someone started knocking at our door at least 3 times. I woke up and when I opened the door, there was the bell boy bringing a suitcase that was not ours. After he noticed he got the wrong room, he apologized and left. It was almost impossible for us to get back to sleep and we felt tired all day long. It is unbelievable that a "5 star" hotel has this type of mistakes. Also, when checking out, we got a different rate than what was initially...

"Staff was very friendly and gracious, went out of their way to help with anything. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of variety and offerings. Nice private beach area, but cushions on lounge chairs were not secured and kept sliding down the chairs when chair backs were inclined. Sea Breeze rooms were spacious though mattress was hard and pillows fairly flimsy. "

"The hotel grounds were lush but the inside of the hotel was decent, and that's the perfect word to describe my overall experience at The Boma Nairobi. The food was just decent. Breakfast? For the money, it was simply "okay." Truth be told, I was disappointed with my stay. The mini fridge had leftover condensation and a bit of mold inside, which might not have been a huge issue to handle had it worked. This is a decent hotel - it's not a 5 star establishment. "
