"Village hotel Warrington is a nice hotel and it's short walk to city centre with good choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes. It's own restaurant is alright but the food choice is limited and maybe a bit expensive. Rooms are clean and comfortable, there's gym and swimming pool worth visiting and a café inside the hotel, good breakfast, free parking, overall a good choice of hotel in the area, certainly recommended. "Had another nice stay in this hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfy bed. We had a bit of an issue with the fish & chips that my partner had as a bar meal on the Sunday evening - more batter than fish! However, after discussion with the chef and the management, this was resolved satisfactorily. The pool/ spa area was lovely - and quiet on a Monday evening. Good and plentiful choice of food for breakfast. Very handy for the park & ride bus into...

"The hotel area smelt of curry and beer with sticky floors, which was not a good start. The person at reception was confused why I was there, then realised I was the last person they were expecting. When I did get a key, there was silence before I asked where the rooms were. The bathroom smelt mouldy (which it was), the shower plumbing needed to be cleared as it was blocked, and the sink plug locked in place.
