"No problem at all "

"Nicely updated older home in a convenient location for visiting Salem on foot (we were just going to Salem Hospital for a 7 a.m. appointment, and it was four minutes away). The facilities were very clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom refurb gets "two thumbs up" (especially the thermostatic floor heaters and no-slip shower floor), there were nice breakfast items (although not ready until a bit after 9 a.m., so we grabbed a couple of cold items from the fridge before 7 and came back to pick up the fresh items...there was also an assortment of complimentary snacks), there was a large plate of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies in the kitchenette area when we arrived, and two complimentary bottles of water were provided in the room. Only two parking spaces behind the building ($25/night), but others are available nearby ($10/night). Staff regularly communicated by text, so all went smoothly. Not much counter space in our bathroom, but we worked it out."

"Our room was well appointed, clean and lovely. The heat was not working properly and it would be morning before it could be fixed. They offered to move us to a junior suite but we declined. The hotel brought us two portable heaters and they kept our room cozy. The staff and service could not have been nicer. "

"Absolutely fantastic hotel in the centre of Salem. We spent 2 nights in December and they had lovely touches such as complimentary coffee in the morning and warm apple cider at night! Loved every second of staying at the hotel. We probably won’t return to Salem (it’s a big world to see) but we will always recommend the Hawthorne hotel to anyone that plans on visiting! Thank you for wonderful memories "

"This was a very beautiful, comfortable property to stay at. The jetted hot tub was great! Staff was extremely firendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the different nooks and rooms to enjoy our brekafast our cup of coffee. The small tavern was fun, comfortable and had great cocktails. We walked all over and bonus find was Redd's Pond where we were able to ice skate! Great restuarants very close by. Highly recommend!"
