"This hotel was highly rated as the best in UK… unfortunately it did not live up to this expectation. The facilities are run down; it has a nice pool that was probably amazing in its day. The breakfast was good; better than the Michelin star dinner! Our experience may have been tainted because we had just stayed at Heckfield place which was so much better! The grounds and the main house is quite beautiful. We would have loved to do some horse riding but the weather wasn’t permitting. "

"We had a very lovely twin room. The room contained every facility you could wish for, and some. The food in the restaurant (including breakfast) was superb and the service throughout the hotel was second to none. Wanted to bring my husband next time for his birthday but the date is limited to a two night stay so very disappointed that this time, I can’t. "

"From checking in at the bar you know that the quality of the room is going to be of a good standard as the pub itself is very nice modern but still classic feel of a country pub. Ate in the pub 1st night of the stay and food was a very standard and reasonably priced for the quality. Only slight negative we had was that although it’s in a quiet village a lot of traffic seems to come through it and can be heard in the accommodation. "We had a lovely stay for a long weekend for our big wedding anniversary. Very comfortable room and lovely breakfast every day. Only 13amp charger for the EV but that was absolutely no problem as there are plenty of public chargers available round and about and we just used one of those whilst we were out for an evening meal on our first night Fresh milk and bottled water available for ‘proper’ coffee in brew bags and wide selection of teas which was nice and so much better than long life...
