"I was not expecting to pay for parking, this was not mentioned at the time of booking so I do not know if this is a Hotels.com issue or the hotel. It’s becoming a recurring theme of late which to me when you’re paying over £100 (usually between £110 and £140) room only, at locations with plenty of parking spaces is a stealth tax. "The priory is a 12th century building, it has a beautiful architectural style with character and charm, set in a beautiful grounds within a short walk of the ancient Roman amphitheatre, and the Roman legion museum which are free to visit. As for the staff, they make it, friendly, helpful, a warm cheeky charm and a welcoming demeanour. We loved our 3 night stay. "
