"Money does not go far in Costa Rica. However this is the best value. Though this is not a western standard hotel, the real wood construction and real wood furniture give it a superior regal feel. The four pools of all different temperature suround by a tropical garden makes it a local resort. The water is chilled in some pools. "Stayed in Jaco for a weekend. The staff at the hotel was extremely nice and made for a comfortable stay. The room itself is nice, modern, and clean. The pool was a decent size.The location was also so perfect, just a 2 minute walk to the beach, and about a 15 minute to the center of Jaco. Loved my stay!"

"When we checked in, from outside we thought it would not be a good clean place but we were wrong. The room was very clean. Property was down the strip away from all the traffic and noise but walkable to general tourist area strip. The beach is around the corner. They have a lobby with microwave and fridge that can be used. Plan your day because they will not allow earlier check in than 2pm. We were willing to pay an extra fee but check in time was firm although we’re were the only tourist there....

"We arrived early and were able to check-in. The room was very clean, A/C, worked great. The pool was clean. For the average person, it's walkable to the main street and restaurants. They were doing some maintenence on the roof of a unit nearby, but noise wasn't bad. Quiet overall. The kitchenette was actually very well stocked, better than most AirBnbs. I recommend. Jaco is touristy, but also has everything a tourist might want."

"The Republic is doing a major remodeling! The rooms was big, clean and very nice! They have a disco on site! The noise didn’t bother me at all! The staff was beyond excellent!! I went fishing and they cooked my catch for me for dinner! I know once they finish the remodel it will be 5 stars all the way! I will definitely be back to them!!"

But it is peaceful and empty during the week, especially heading west for 10 minutes, where you walk along a thin strip of coastline between the ocean and the jungle, seeing rock outcroppings, birds, and surf while hearing all sorts of sounds from nature. "Bahia Rica Was an oasis in Paquera. We stayed for one night and did the bioluminescent tour and Isla Tortuga. The guest house was a rustic sanctuary where you feel one with nature. Lots of monkeys, and beautiful birdwatching. 253 steps down to a secluded beach where we had breakfast and we’re given various choices of cuisine. Isla Tortuga was awesome with Juan as a guide.
