"Lovely spacious room and a very comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom with Penhaligons toiletries. Nespresso machine and proper milk! Had a drink in Madeline 's bar which had a very relaxed atmosphere with a friendly, efficient service. I would highly recommend The Grand Hotel for a stay in Birmingham. I hope to return sometime. "

"i have used this hotel many times, fantastic value for money and in the perfect location, it never disappoints, reception always very polite and helpful,,there was a rock concert nearby and the hotel was full to the brim of costumed Ghost fans and Ghouls,,,quite scary but extremely well behaved and pleasant "

"I stayed at The Bloc Hotel during a short trip to Birmingham for an event, and overall it was a great experience. The location is really convenient – just a short walk from the train station and close to the Bullring, which made things a lot easier after a long journey. It was a relief to know I didn’t have far to go once I arrived in the city. I mainly used the hotel to drop off my things and get some rest, as I was out all day at the event. For that purpose, it was ideal – affordable, clean, and comfortable. A nice touch was the free water bottles provided in the room, which was appreciated. One small downside: there wasn’t a mirror in the bedroom, only in the bathroom. So if you’re someone who needs a mirror for makeup or getting ready, that might be a bit inconvenient. It would be great if they added one to the room in the future. Overall, a solid choice for a short and functional stay in the city."

Lovely Birmingham home away from home!

"Once we opened the door, we were welcomed with a refreshing fragrance! The house was clean but the shower cubicle could be cleaner. The beds were comfortable and we had 6 beds for a family of 5! The kitchen was well equipped with a working fridge/freezer and microwave, which we used. We did not use the kettle, toaster or cooker but they were available. We easily got tea towels and kitchen tissue from Lisa local, which was only a few doors away from the property. The living room was spacious and we were able to watch Netflix and Prime video with our login details. Free Wi-Fi was a bonus as well. Faid, the property owner was only a phone call away and was very helpful. We won't hesitate to book the property again when next we visit Birmingham. I highly recommend 👌 "

Amazing hotel! Lovely staff

"Stayed here for a weekend with the family, I have to say it was one of the BEST hotels I’ve stayed in. Very modern. The room was very clean and fresh . Around the hotel was lovely and clean and well kept . The receptionist Jordan went above and beyond for us and the children, was polite and helpful and told us fun things we could do with the children. The breakfast in the mornings was DELICIOUS! With such a wide variety you can’t go wrong ! The bar and staff was very friendly. Made me a delicious passion fruit mojito and then made me a child friendly one for my son so he wasn’t left out . Thank you for making my stay with my family so lovely ! X "

Nice place to stay on a budget

"Staff very accommodating. Hotels.com failed to pass on the hotel check in instructions that state photo ID must be used for check in validation purposes. Thankfully, the hotel staff allowed us to check in without this, as we were staying for my daughters wedding. Room was clean, and value for money. Could have used with a kettle and couple of cups in the room, so we could have had hot drinks. But for the room price, we’d definitely stay there again. The venue website, along with on site literature all state a wide (and delicious looking) food menu we were looking forward to trying. Sadly, during our stay it became apparent that no food was available. Whether this was perhaps temporary as a result of chef illness etc, wasn’t made clear. If you’re planning to stay here, pack a travel kettle and cups, and possibly cutlery. WiFi worked in the bar area, but refused point blank to connect in our room (room one)."
