"Wonderful stay, great City location, friendly staff, lovely room, very tastefully laid out considering the period of the building. Stay here if you want to enjoy a historic experience. The bed was so comfy and the pillows were like sleeping on clouds. Lots of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits in the room, can't fault the stay, look forward to staying here again. "

"The location is excellent and the inn full of character. The staff were all lovely and breakfast well presented and very good quality . The room was clean and pleasant, but as it was overlooked by both the City Walls and the beer garden I had to keep the curtains closed. Also the industrial extractor fan for the kitchen was right outside my window so there was a continuous noise from 7.00 until late into the evening. In a way, it was a plus because it was white noise that mitigated the noise...

"Really well located on the doorstep of the city. Had a very friendly welcome and staff were accommodating & helpful throughout. The site said it was LGBTQ friendly and it really was as a LGBT couple celebrating a wedding anniversary we felt very comfortable here. Breakfast was really nice & a decent size. The room was a good size, clean and had a nice view of the art gallery. Evening entertainment was lively & enjoyable. Will be staying here again when we next visit York."

"Lovely little guesthouse close enough to the action but quiet and a great neighourhood. No reception, or staff, they texted a code for the outer door and the key was inside. Compact but clean and comfortable, with everything I needed, the Nespresso machine was welcome. No bar or restaurant on site but there is a full kitchen you can use if you want to cook."

"Great 2 night stay, slight issue with Expedia which Tony sorted out for us swiftly, great service and a fantastic room, luxurious pillows and bedding/mattress so slept so well and didn’t hear any outside noise. "Nice spacious room, close to city centre with very, very friendly staff and excellent service... Food was excellent with lots of choice at breakfast, which was included in the price. Only minor point was that there were a couple of little decorative tired bits around the edges like the net curtain had a tear for example... But it was nothing so big as to take the shine off our stay. Would return absolutely and would highly recommend."
