The selection of wines/drinks/snacks in the room were of good quality, and whilst i did not consume, due to work commitments, i would in the future. The restaurant attached served lovely, locally sourced food at a reasonable price. And the location of the hotel meant you were walking distance into town, and 20 minutes walk from the train...

"It was an intriguing building. Rooms well furnished and heated. The staff were very helpful and friendly. BUT not a suitable place for elderly or those with mobility problems. An outside flight of stairs, which could be slippery in wet weather, led to first floor and then more internal steep stairs our room. There were no grab rails in the shower. Food was well prepared especially the breakfast but menu in evening was limited and in spite of signs there was no real ale. A further problem which...
