"We arrived at 7am in the morning and were able to check into our room straight away, which was amazing after a long overnight boat journey. The location of the hotel is perfect for Westquay located just opposite and easy parking either in the hotel car park or in Westquay car park. The hotel has a lovely vibe and the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable for a short stay. Rooms were quiet and we slept well. This would always be my first choice when staying in Southampton."

"The breakfast choice was very good, a few things they could do better, informed the reception when checking out. The room I was in was cold and very noisy early that morning road noise. Again informed reception."

"Everything first class. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Appreciated our luggage being taken to and from our room. Standard room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Enjoyed using the coffee machine and appreciated the excellent breakfast tea and china teapot. Lovely biscuits and complimentary gin too. "At a similar price to a chain budget hotel I decided to take a risk and go for this instead as this landmark building in the centre of Southampton looked like an interesting choice. It is an old building and a bit dated in parts but it was clean and comfortable and the staff were all friendly and helpful. There was also a decent and good-value breakfast. It made for a more interesting stay than an anonymous chain and was a bargain for the price. I'd happily stay again. "

"We've stayed in this hotel previously and it always lives up to our expectations. The price for B&B is very good, although the bar menu could do with improving. We ate our evening meal at the Chilworth Arms which is busy but nearby. The staff are lovely and I'm sure we'll stay again."

"I appreciated the staff for many reasons. I did have to wait for my room after getting off the cruise ship early and expected that. I worked and took a nap in the lobby. One very kind young man who was working in the dining/kitchen department approached me when I woke up to ask if I was ok. He told me he had been very worried about me but when he asked his manager if he should wake me up, he told him to let me sleep. He just wanted me to know he kept an eye on me to make sure I was ok. "Pro: Good communication, Fast check in and out, room a good size for families, having a small kitchen saved us a lot of time and money. Cool decor. Good heating and cooling. Parking was right by the front door. Very quiet. Lovely high ceilings, good blackout curtains. Good size TV. Comfy feather pillows.
