"This hotel is not modern upscale, but we didn't expect it to be. Very old, creaky and funky better describes it (but charming nonetheless). Warning - hobbit built - If you are over 6 ft. tall it might not suit you well. Standard rooms are quite small and the bed is a double not a queen. WIFI works well. That being said, the staff, restaurant and bar are outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In particular, the restaurant quality is very good (somewhat a rarity in the UK). ...

"Absolutely first-class! Super suite with lovely old features and a huge 4-post bed. No charge for a cooked breakfast delivered to our room which was superb. Excellent tea and coffee and fresh juice. A real treat."

"We are repeat customers. This is probably our 7th or 8th visit. Love the area...great for walks. Love how remote The High Corner Inn is. There seems to be a high staff turnover the past few years however bar and restaurant staff were excellent on this visit and couldn't have been more welcoming. Only two complaints...it has become quite expensive and the food quality is not as good. We all felt that the value for money in terms of food and drinks was not as good as in the past. In fairness,...

"There are lots of wonderful things about this small hotel. Its very friendly staff, beautifully decorated room (we stayed in a garden room), comfy bed, large modern bathroom with a huge walk in shower, efficient heating, possibility to open a window, comfortable lounge with Sunday papers, small bar and a good restaurant. I also appreciated the free parking at the back of the hotel with easy access to rooms and reception. My only complaint would be that breakfast, especially at weekends ends way...
