"Very kind, accommodating staff. Chika went out of her way to explain how to use the facilities, as many guests may not be aware of Japanese protocols. The room was large, and futons were comfortable. We enjoyed the public bath - good long soak in the hot springs. Great location, short walk to the Kyoto train station. Highly recommend!!"

"We were so close to transport, dining and shopping yet we felt like we were a world away in a traditional ryokan with beautiful breakfasts and futon bedding with rice paper walls blocking out the cold and street traffic noise. Front desk assistance was kind, friendly and helpful. The onsen experience was very clean and relaxing."

"If you want an old old style, real Japanese experience with a lovely tatanmi room with easy access to central Kyoto, then it's great. We loved it. Very little English spoken (not a problem for us), and could be difficult to find if you don't arrive by taxi, but we really enjoyed our stay."
