"Super unique experience off the beaten path to stay in a beautiful Ryokan. Would be great for a value with larger families, but be prepared to understand the busses or get a taxi, not a ton to do in the immediate area. On the other hand, staff was nice, limited but plenty of English with my terrible Japanese. Food was excellent and beautifully plated. Rooms were truly amazing, one of my favorite things on my travels."

"Although the room appeared small for 4 travellers with luggage it was perfectly big enough. The futons were extremely comfortable but wish I had more pillows. The bathroom was large but not necessary with the bathhouse included in the stay! The bathhouse was one of the highlights of my Japan trip. "It was the first time I stayed in a Ryokan. The etiquette and professionalism of the staff was above expectations. The Kaiseki dinner was good as any fine-dining experience I've had. The explanation of ingredient and preparation of each course was total bliss. Traditional Kyoto meals which focuses on the ingredients more than strong savoriness was perfect for my palette and soul. "A very nice place to stay for vacation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious and clean. Just walk one block to the bus station and two block to the subway station. The buses are reaching to the temples and Kyoto station. No need to transfer. Very convenient."

"This is a must if you plan on staying at Kyoto! Super easy to find and it a nice quiet part of Kyoto but not too far from the action. My wife and I got the room with an Onsen. But first I’d like to add that all the staff there are super friendly, attentive and very kind. Little Japanese is needed to stay here as the staff is very versed in English. Our room was so neat and clean and our onsen was amazing, we’ve used it quite often knowing we were only there for 2 days, also the food was amazing...

"This is a fantastic little hotel that gives one a taste of the traditional Ryokan experience. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, especially Pierre-san at the front desk. We stayed here three nights just before Christmas. Rooms were clean, large and quiet. Near the Nishiki Market. Large common room and roof deck for DIY meals or cocktails. Highly recommend."

"We stayed in satoyama room with 5 people, which was perfect fit. We enjoyed our room with the open air bath and shower outside, a living room and the sleeping room.
