"Advertised as a hotel (not Pontins) with an address that didn't match the booking one and lacking many of the basics you'd have in in anything resembling a hotel. One of the worst properties I've stayed in over 4 decades. A generally stand off ish and hostile undertone from the staffing on arrival, several serious defects and no warning about the bedding or towel shortfalls (unless you are one of their loyal customers who tolerate more than they should be expected to). "The hotel was lovely and in a brilliant location in the centre of Rye. There are lots of really good restaurants nearby. We didn’t have a drink in the hotel bar, but it looked nice and welcoming. We were upgraded to a luxury room, which had a roll top bath and a huge, really comfy bed! I have given 5 stars instead of 4 as the B&B rate only included a continental breakfast and you had to pay extra for a cooked. This was the only negative."
