A pleasant stay
Wonderful room with solid wood furniture, clean and well lit. No fridge or microwave though. The personnel was kind and helpful. A delicious breakfast surprised us. We enjoyed our stay.

Inferior mattress, no hallway light it was difficult to open room door in the dark, no switch to turn off exterior light that shone into room all night with no black out drapes, decor out dated. View beautiful from deck. On site restaurant has wonderful food and staff. View worth the money but the room was not.

We had a wonderful stay at Auberge Poste au Traite. Our room was overlooking St-Lawrence River. Cozy old fashion decor. Room was super clean. Quiet! Host - Xavier was very friendly and ķind. Our room included full breakfast. On day of our departure as we were leaving early. Xavier had brought us fruit and juice for our early start. Auberge had restaurant and food was great!! Our server Philippe was super fun and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful and memorable stay at the Auberge and on the Island!! Merci Xavier et Philippe:) Raymonde Ruel

Stayed just one night and beautiful view was somewhat obscured by rain and mist, but we much enjoyed our stay. We had a very good dinner in the restaurant. The menu has some unique dishes and is interesting. Service was very good and helpings were generous. Our room, while not large was comfortable and we found the bed very comfortable.

Great location, on the St. Lawrence River. The deck of the restaurant looks onto to the river. The we had a room with a door from main building and a door onto the deck the door onto the was rotted out on the bottom but the views more than made up for it. The food is great at the restaurant, we ate dinner twice there. Breakfast is included the makes croissants and comes and offers you eggs and bacon. There is orange juice, strawberries, yogurt and toast available too.

Horrible people
I booked this 4 months in advance. I was travelling with my 4kg chihuahua. At the time of booking, and up until I got there the site said the hotel was pet friendly. When I got there, after being on the road for 10 hours, someone who wasn’t the owner gave me keys to a room and I hauled my bags and heavy cooler up 2 flights of stairs as there isn’t an elevator. A few minutes later, I was sitting outside with my dog, and was approached by a tall man who immediately started yelling at me in French. When I said I don’t speak French, he went inside and got the man who gave me the keys, who proceeded to tell me I couldn’t stay there with my dog. Confused, I showed them my booking where it said the hotel is friendly, and the owner kept yelling in French as the other guy translated. Made me feel horrible. They said they changed their pet policy 3 months ago (a month after I had booked). They were horrible, yelled at me and asked me to leave. As I was getting ready to leave, the translator tells me I could stay if I left my dog in the car (it was over 35 degrees Celsius at the moment), to which I laughed. Then they told me they would honor the booking but my dog “couldn’t touch the floor anywhere in the property and had to stay in a cage”. I specifically booked a pet friendly hotel so my dog could be free to use the facilities with me, not so he could be treated like garbage. They acted like they were doing a charity for me, like I wasn’t a paying customer. I luckily found an Airbnb.

The host was gracious and friendly, and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived late-evening to check-in. Great breakfasts! Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, fantastic view of the St Lawrence and valley across to Quebec City from riverside rooms and from the dining room. We will definitely stay there again!

Country Charm
This quaint little Hotel was perfect for a one night stay on the Ile D’Orleans. The room was very clean and comfortable with a full bathroom. We ate dinner in the restaurant savouring local fare such as poutine with Island cheese and red deer sausage. Breakfast was included, however we were not able to stay as we wanted to get on the road early. Xavier very kindly provided us with everything we needed to make coffee in our room early in the morning. The staff all spoke English and were very friendly and courteous and attended to our every need.
