Welcome to the East-side of Hawaii and Kai Honu Hale, the Ocean Turtle House! This 3-level oceanfront gem in Hawaiian Beaches offers a unique floating-on-water experience with its proximity to the Pacific Ocean.

Throughout the year, from every room in this 2-bedroom house and 1 studio loft (with open bedroom concept) and 2 baths, you'll enjoy 180-degree unobstructed ocean views. Witness magnificent sunrises, playful dolphins, turtles, and even up-close whale sightings during winter months.

Our house is in an ideal neighborhood for walks. Relax on outdoor lounge chairs with stunning ocean views. Just 7 minutes from Pahoa town, offering various dining options, and 45 minutes from the Hawaii Volcano National Park.

The living room boasts panoramic windows with daily turtle sightings. Amenities include a 37' flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. A charcoal BBQ is available for your use; just bring your charcoals.

Experience paradise at Kai Honu Hale, where the ocean becomes your daily companion, and your Hawaiian dream vacation awaits.

If you need advice on any spot in the Big Island, we are here for answers. We can give you informative advice being that we are from the Big Island and live here too. We are located 30-35 minutes from the Hilo airport. Check-in is from 3:00 PM or after. Check-out is at 10:00 AM unless other arrangements have been made. Upon confirmation, directions will be e-mailed to you. Base rate is for 2 people only.

The condo is very nice. Very clean, great amenities and the host focuses on the details to make your stay very comfortable with all you would hope for in a vacation rental. 50 yards to the beach and 75 yards to a great restaurant for happy hour, food and outdoor seating to take in the sunset. I highly recommend this.

The location was perfect! We chose it since our cousins were only 20 minutes away and could not have been happier. Great house on the water!
Our family had a great time and the house was perfect. Lots of space and had everything we needed. Loved sitting by the ocean during the day and listening to the waves crashing at night. We did the Hilo Farmers market, explored Hilo, Volcanoes national park, Kua Bay and Hapuna beach. Great vacation to the Big Island and wonderful to come back to such a nice house and amazing view.

The house was in an amazing place on the ocean overlooking about 30 feet of lava into the ocean. The waves crashing put us to sleep in comfortable beds. The neighborhood was nice and restaurants were close. Liv and Bob had neighborhood suggestions for restaurant and activities. We went to their neighborhood black beach and it was awesome. The kitchen had much more than you could ask for. I would love to revisit this place and stay in this house again!

Oceanfront Cliffside Retreat Outside of Hilo
Very nice two bedroom + loft home in the Hawaiian Beaches neighborhood south of Hilo perched atop a 30 foot cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We saw Humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and fish flying out of the water. We watched and felt the surf pound the shore while we enjoyed our Kona coffee on the back patio in the mornings. Very idyllic and peaceful. A beautiful stay.

We already miss the sounds of the breaking waves
Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). Don't miss Uncle Robert's on Wednesday night with other locals. It was a great time. Also, the Lava Flow museum in Pahoa was really interesting and the local guide there explained a lot about how the lava impacted her life.
