"This is my fifth time staying at the Westin Miyako. The location is superb for seeing temples on the west side of Kyoto, and it’s always easy to get around, either via their free shuttle bus to Kyoto Station, or by nearby public transit with a few blocks’ walk. The staff offers world class hospitality. I could not have asked for a better stay. "

"This was a spacious, comfortable and unique property in a good location. It was immaculately clean. There is a Lawson store next door and a number of good restaurants nearby. It is in walking distance to the Heian Shrine and Nanzenji Temple. Bus stops are just outside and subway stations are very close. The hotel is on a busy street, but the room is well insulated and very quiet. It has a washing machine that is supposed to also function as a dryer, but we didn’t have much luck with the dryer...

"It's a lovely property. Mixture of traditional gardens and areas, some outdated areas, beautiful room. Dining area is stunning. Good Ryokan experience."

"High value for money you will not find anywhere else. Although the property may be a bit aged it's well maintained, up to our expectations. "

"I don't think there is a better location in Kyoto to stay. You are away from the busier spots in Kyoto and the mountains are just a walk away. Getting up in the mornings and getting to explore right outside the hotel was very exciting. Great staff and quiet, clean rooms. Would highly recommend!"

"Run down, moldy and extremely dusty Machiya! Do not stay here for your own health, we went straight to bed without checking the place as we checked in at 6pm and we were tired but we kept waking up choking and coughing, we looked arond and saw the black mold in the black room and the dust on all the beams. Hotels . Com should not be advertising this hotel and the pictures are YEARS out of date. If you stay here you will get ill, be aware."

"Fantastic ryokan, we had a slight issue doing virtual check in but staff was immediate and provided prompt assistance. The ryokan was beautiful, the was amazing. Breakfast was delivered in the morning and was nice. Would stay again."
