May need a taxi or spend time in transit to go site seeing, but some places are walkable. I enjoyed the outside bath even on rainy nights, as it was under cover. Overall enjoyed my stay here."

"This guesthouse is absolutely lovely. Conveniently located, comfortable, and has a really helpful and friendly staff. Would absolutely stay again. My only criticism is that it was difficult to communicate with them prior to our check in (we had some changed travel plans). They don't seem to check their email (or answer their phone?). Having said that, they were very kind about our early arrival when we did arrive and everything worked out. "

They also turn off the AC in the middle of the might and even if it runs, it’s usually very light so I try to turn on the fan at the same time to avoid sweating. "I was so pleased with Hostel Mundo! It has the style of a traditional Japanese home, with all the comforts that come along with that. That means snug rooms with sleeping cushions on tatami mat floors, a warm home-like environment in the common quarters, and a welcoming staff that is knowledgeable about the surrounding area of Kyoto.
