"Gorgeous island and a 5 star property. The advantage of this side of El Nido (Taytay) is that there are no other resorts in the area. You are always alone on trips to small islands or diving. "We've been here before so we already knew that the rooms are worn, that there's no WiFi in the room (and in the public areas where there is - it's poor), that the grounds need more attention, and that the public restrooms near the sports desk are disgusting. The boats are also awful, with uncomfortable plastic benches. We returned anyway because the view is spectacular, the pools are fantastic, and the food at the restaurant is OK and reasonably-priced. Having no other such island resort option...

"Slice of paradise although basic amenities (had to manually water flush the toilet). Staff were exceptionally friendly. Food was average and drinks limited. Overall great stay. "

"Badlaz has up market rooms and air conditioned small rooms. If wife is with me we get up market if as now I get small/inexpensive room. Swimming pool is very good, diving is excellent. Staff and owners are great. 24 hour bar 40 mtrs from sandy beach. Always stay here"

"We stayed three nights are El Rio Y Mar Resort and wish we could have stayed a week. This resort is hands down the best resort we have stayed at in the Philippines. It's very secluded from the hustle and bustle of Coron yet close enough that you can still do the island hopping tours and excursions. "Welcomed warmly by Mhary and wish everyone else in that resort is like her. Definitely NOT the front desk lady I saw on my second day (on Monday, PH time) there (when Mhary was on her day off). Cleaning staff are both nice and really very good at their job. I did not try diving with this resort but I snorkeled on my own and it was very good. I did visit the other twin resort and it was a delight. All in all, very good value and a good experience."
