"We appreciated our Stay at Colibrí. The room and surrounding areas were kept very clean. The pool is beautiful and there is a poolside bar that is open in the afternoon. Breakfasts are available for an additional cost. Owners and staff were very nice. One thing to note is that check in is by 8 p.m. or you need to make prior arrangements for staff to stay later. The only issue we had was that our window opened up to the reception desk so we felt awkward having the curtain open. That was a room...

"The price is not worth what they offer. There was no ventilation or tv in the room. Just a very tiny desk and chair. Hot shower was not working, they had to come help and get it fix 30 mins so we could shower. If the price was lower I understand what they offer is limited, but not worth even the $60 the night."

"This was a real gem to find and provided an enjoyable place to stay on an unplanned trip to San Jose. Only 4 blocks to the US Embassy/Consulate which was the purpose of our trip. The host was absolutely wonderful and the owner provided excellent advice regarding navigating the area and issues we had to deal with (covid testing, local transportation, etc). "I’ve stayed at many places but this is definitely one of my favorites. The building looks brand new and very well-maintained. There is a hangout room on the top floor with a huge Tv and coffee machine. Next to it is a small gym with a bathroom and a shower! There is also WiFi that works very well in both rooms! "La Mariposa is a hidden gem and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Staff at the front desk and restaurant were wonderful. Views were amazing. Communication was good when they hosted a wedding onsite and the restaurant hours were limited, so that other plans could be made. The only issues for me were the mattresses were a bit stiff ( ultra firm) and our room was a bit of a hike with many uphill stairs to climb when coming to or from the hotel proper. We got plenty of exercise but it would have been good if they checked to see if this was an issue."
