"This is a great place to stay if you’d like to visit Costa Rica and really experience the city in a way tourists don’t usually get to. Warren was a fantastic host and will help you find whatever you are looking for. He was even available to take us on tours out of the city, all you have to do is negotiate a price (he was as good as any tour guide and less pricey!) I loved the stay there and was very thankful to find this hidden gem."

"The room was small but efficiently made use of all space. The private balcony was roomy and provided the perfect place to enjoy breakfast every morning and relax in the evening. "It was so horrible very small ugly old fashioned and with staircase that I couldn't stay because i have problem with walking and problem with my back. So I had to go and look for a more better place. They said they understand and will return my money paid to them up to dat my money is not embourse to me. And they said the will. And it a lot of maney i paid for 10 days. I wish to get my money."

"Very nice, quiet and comfortable room. Parking on-site is a plus. Close (10 minutes by car) to Manuel Antonio National Park and beaches. The owner is very courteous and helpful, he provided lots of valuable tips during our stay. Contact the owner via WhatsApp for instructions on how to get to the location (in CR some streets don't have house numbers, and this is the case here)."

"Habitación sin ventana al exterior, solo al espacio común, lo cual no deja privacidad alguna. La temperatura de la habitación es insoportable y no hay aire. Está en plena carretera principal y el ruido del tráfico no cesa ni en la noche. No hay cartel para encontrarlo. "

"I’ve stayed at many places but this is definitely one of my favorites. The building looks brand new and very well-maintained. There is a hangout room on the top floor with a huge Tv and coffee machine. Next to it is a small gym with a bathroom and a shower! There is also WiFi that works very well in both rooms! "La Mariposa is a hidden gem and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Staff at the front desk and restaurant were wonderful. Views were amazing. Communication was good when they hosted a wedding onsite and the restaurant hours were limited, so that other plans could be made. The only issues for me were the mattresses were a bit stiff ( ultra firm) and our room was a bit of a hike with many uphill stairs to climb when coming to or from the hotel proper. We got plenty of exercise but it would have been good if they checked to see if this was an issue."
