"Great place to stay near Arashiyama. Walkable distance to JR Uzumasa station and some Randen station I forgot the name. The hotel is overall very clean with all required facilities. Given the price, it was a no brainer. The lady was really nice and kind and helped with every requirement, despite not understanding English. "

"lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. I got mine by having a nice lady in the Kyoto railway station tourist office call the owner/manager, who promptly emailed instructions. The front “lobby” and hallway are unheated. There is no breakfast buffet, no vending machines, none...
