"It was a welcome surprise to find the strong emphasis on environmental responsibility at this hotel. The decor was modern and very pleasant, plants, gardens and fishponds to experience. Most of the roofs were covered with solar panels. Bicycles were available for use, and purified water was freely available. The room was modernized (this is a fairly old building) and thoughtfully equipped. The only drawback was the busy road next to the room and the sound of airplanes from the nearby airport....

I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Hilo and surrounding areas for a few days. This is in a residential neighborhood. "If you go to the Big Island, this is where you want to stay. The view is the best. We saw sea turtles every morning. It was less than 10 minutes from a good-sized farmer's market. All the stuff in Hilo is just 30 minutes away. Plenty of room for our family of 6 adults. Lots of beach gear! Thank you."

"This was booked last minute due to a last minute cancellation for another property. Beautiful property especially for the earthy type of individual. It was perfect for my needs however I don’t see people staying here that require more of an upscale type of setting.
