The volcano house is a very charming hotel. It’s not fancy but it’s what you would expect from a national Park Lodge. The food was excellent in the dining room. Service was great. We had a little wait for dinner, about two hours, but that’s because the volcano had erupted that day, and there were lots of people there. But we finally were able to be squeezed in, and that was without a reservation. The rooms are not fancy, very basic, but very comfortable and have everything you need. There are lots of hiking trails outside on the property. We have the exciting experience of watching Kilauea erupt. There are a couple gift shops and. A visitors center across the street. We had a very nice time.
