"We enjoyed our stay and we are already planning our trip to come back. Even with ongoing renovations the staff was amazing. Our room’s air conditioner was not working and we traveled with a baby. Grace was amazing and quickly moved us to a room with a balcony so that we keep the room at a favorable temp for our child. We loved it!! Thank you to all the friendly staff! "

"Stayed here 20 years ago after Leon Russell concert at Palace Theatre. Still Charming, old style Hawaii. Took awhile for hot water to heat, cool water was invigorating. Grateful for fan in room. It’d been better if ceiling fan’s bright light was on different switch. "

"We loved loved this property. It was clean, loved the fact they offered house slippers as well as outside slippers. We spent more time out on our full beautiful balcony more than in room. Beautiful landscaping. You can tell they take pride in the rental home. It’s was quiet and laid back for my husband and I. Maid service was awesome. We stayed on that side of island cuz it was my local, and just drove to tourist areas when we wanted to do stuff. Zoo was free and gorgeous, rainbow falls was free and beautiful. Checked out many beaches. Overall everything was wonderful. Even tried to eat mostly authentic local foods. Island breeze luau was a rip off don’t recommend. But it’s a must stay. "Arnott's Lodge is a quiet, cozy home away from home. The staff were so friendly. We stayed in a studio. Parking was right outside your private entrance so very easy to unload luggage. The studio had air conditioning, a large kitchen island, a 2 burner stovetop, mini fridge, toaster, microwave and utensils. It was so nice to be able to cook our own meals. The private bathroom had a large shower. The bed was our favorite part. Firm but oh so comfortable after a long day of exploring. The beach is a 3 minute walk down to the end of the road. It's a tiny beach entrance and was never crowded. This lodge is extremely close to the Hilo airport and it can be very loud when planes are landing so be aware if you are a light sleeper. We will definitely be staying here again when in Hilo."
