"This hotel is in a great location, kept up impeccably well, and at a reasonable price (for Kyoto!). Rooms here are small (you’ll have to live out of your luggage) but the beds and bathrooms are perfect. My only issues were our basement room (we agreed to it to shave the cost, but if I went again I would have upgraded to a view) and the tv is not foreign-friendly. They have an Apple TV you can hook up your account to, but I was not able to get mine past some regional permissions so I depended on a previous guests account!"

"Though it is a 2-star hotel, the room and amenities provided were excellent! They provided multi adaptor, face masks, hair straightener for the ladies etc and these were very well thought of. The location. Is just beside the beautiful Kamo River and between Gion and new Kyoto. Will stay here again in a heartbeat !"

"The location was great and we did a lot of walking in every direction. There was so much to discover and restaurants were everywhere. The room was lovely and we had all that we needed. Comfortable beds and a lovely bathroom/tub. I would definitely recommend this hotel. "

The lady at the check in counter was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely check out other MInn Gion locations when we return to Japan."

"Bit small if you're cramming more than 2 people in the room, but the location is great - walking distance to Yasaka Shrine, Gion, Yasaka Pagoda. Breakfast food is great."
