"We had a great stay at the Sofitel. Friendly staff, nice rooms and a fantastic view over the River Nile and under the right weather conditions also the pyramids. With a room facing towards south we had direct Nile view all the way around us with a nice long distance to the busy streets of Cairo. The room was nice a cozy. Definitely not brand new, but clean and spacious. Only downside is the poor noice insulation of the balcony door. The party boats can be quite loud - so bring your earbuds!...

"This hotel was located in Zamelek island area-touristic safer quieter location. It was clean, little outdated, good view from window, had spa and coffee shop on site. They let us leave luggage after checkout while we took a day toor. The area felt safer than downtown, not close to any sightseeing. You would need to take taxi to go everywhere. "

"The staff is very accommodating, the rooms are lovely and I was given a late check out with no extra charge. The elevator isn't safe (we know first hand) and Communication with reservations to resolve issues beforehand is impossible. Having said that I would stay here again but only send my luggage in the elevator. "
