"A charming old building with authentic wooden floors. It runs parallel to the busy Kloofstreet restaurant scene, so easy walking access. You have the sounds of the city in the background but somehow this location has a quietness to it compared to other places in the city. We loved the romantic little private balcony with bay windows where we had some wine in cheese. The service was personal and sincere with Arthur making us breakfast as per our choice along with the buffet."

"Private room was ok, no tv, staff act lije they do u a favour, had the tidy room sign out and that evening still on door sith nothing done, parking a hudge problem, place a disappointment for the price being charged for private room"

"The Ashanti Lodge is not to be compared with international backpackers. It pays its dues to the beautiful scenery of Cape Town and one cannot stress enough the lodge character rather than the type of accommodation as backpacker. From check-in to departure the service was friendly and the accommodation neat (not very spacious though) and value for money even if travelling with your partner. Among all the backpackers in Cape Town this is the one to book!"

The property is in a very popular area, lots of night life, if you are early to bed, we recommend requesting a room away from the front of the hotel, which can be noisy. "The property was not understanding about an unintentional double booking that was caught within 24 hours of purchase and several weeks prior to the stay. Even the request to not refund but convert to a credit at the property was denied. I will stay somewhere else "

"Vary good position in town walking distance to town centre and close driving for table mountain and the water front, pity there was not a fridge in room and shower could have had a bit more pressure "
