"Our secrets tulum stay was wonderful. Booking excursions was easy and convenient without anyone being pushy. The transportation from and to hotel felt very safe as the Amstar staff was always available at the hotel. The resort staff was amazing. The staff concierge Marlen went above and beyond to meet our every request. She was very pleasant and quick to respond via text. She not only booked our reservations for restaurants but also followed up to ensure everything went well. The beach at zamna was private and beautiful. We loved it. We enjoyed the food and hospitality there as well. Our best time was at the Olio restaurant where we went 3 times because the whole staff from Sergio the server, Rene the manager to the Chef Gonzalo gave us an amazing experience. Chef Gonzalo made special meals only for us to meet our diet needs. Every single item he made was delicious. Our many thanks to the whole staff of secrets for making my wife’s birthday trip special. "

"We stayed in the Lirio Room. Though the room is surrrounded by palm trees, the beach is less than a 5 minute walk. All paths are sand, and lit up at night. The beach was quiet, not busy, and we did not have trouble locating a tent and beds to use on the beach. There are many vendors but they are not pushy. This is located in the southern hotel zone of Tulum. The most inexpensive restaurants were about $15 American for 1 dish, most average about $25 American per dish. Many vegan options. There is shopping within 5 minutes walk. The shopping is mostly clothing and accessories stores, these stores are "higher end" boutiques with unique bohemian style clothing. Tattoo shops, and dance clubs are close by too. The hotel bathrooms ask that you do not flush toilet paper, or toilets clog. "

"Very nice hotel but the street it is on is in very bad shape. From pot holes to sketchy looking people, it made us feel very uneasy walking around. Overall we had a great experience at the hotel but it did feel over priced. Not sure we would go back. "

"Beautiful hotel. Room could have been cleaner. There were stray hairs (from multiple ppl) on the rug, in the shower, by the pool. Floor felt gritty so i don't think they are swept/vacuumed regularly- I just wore the provided slippers and was ok. But the room was spacious and comfortable with functioning AC, the plunge pool also functioned well. Had to request the outdoor lamps be fixed, and they were. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I rented a Bali Bed but got rained out after only an hour and it wasnt usable the rest of the day- I was approached the next day at breakfast where they offered to set it up again for me since the weather was better. No hassle! Appreciated the complimentary bottle of prosecco and cake left in my room for my birthday too. Restaurant on site was GREAT. Must get the shrimp taco! Hotel is walkable to other great dining options and little boutiques- its right on the strip, but with great security- felt safe on and off property ad a solo female traveler. Highly recommended!"
