"The staff were outstanding in terms of friendliness and being helpful. The lass on reception - Kathleen i think - remembered all our names from checking us in and greeted us every morning using our first names. Just brilliant!"

"The hotel had some difficulties during our stay because it coincided with storm Eowyn and some facilities were not available but with good cause. The staff were fantastic and we were particularly impressed with the way all the catering staff worked together irrespective of status. Refurbishment is occurring and will be on-going but the impact was minimal however, the end result will put this venue in the top places to stay."

"Fantastic stay, got caught there during the storm and staff couldn’t have done anymore, made sure we were comfortable , happy, feed and watered, they were wonderful. Also keeping us updated on weather situations as they arose. "

"Received a warm friendly greeting from Gary, the receptionist, on our arrival. Staff very friendly and helpful. The lounge is rather dark and not well lit in the evening. We also found the limited seating in the lounge was quickly filled with non-residents some of whom were drinking take-away coffees. Most days we found seats and it was OK."

"Last minute booking, very good value, very late check in (11.30pm) Night porter expecting us, helped with bags, room lovely and warm. Bed amazingly comfortable, and bathroom so clean you could eat dinner in there. (Joking) Breakfast included in price, staff very helpful. Full scottish breakfast, and changes to it no problem. "I should have checked first if there were lifts, unfortunately none, we were on second floor we both have poor mobility it was a struggle but a member of staff did help with suitcase. We also assumed we could get dinner but wrong again, they only do breakfast which was not great. At least there are many restaurants nearby. We found a lovely Italian one. The room was very good, but crumbs on floor at my bedside, not amused. We wouldn't go back."
