The building/parking lot was dark with no valid lights. The office was closed, lights off, and vacant to the point that we did not attempt to get out of the car for check-in. Broken glasses in the parking lots and the roads surrounding. Safer to sleep on the streets by Ghirardelli Square."

I don't recall on the Hotel's description here on Expedia or on their own website that the deposit was $400 up front. I stayed for 6 days so that should have been around $170.
