"We stayed here one night to visit the cathedral, and I would stay here again! The staff was so helpful and attentive, the room was comfortable, and the location is great for dining spots and walking to the cathedral. The rooftop bar next door, which (at the time we went) gave discounts to hotel guests, has amazing night views of the cathedral!"

"We loved Royal Oak and the thoughtfully designed spaces. Our room was extremely clean and also had a very nice bathroom accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the area, Kearsney Gardens and quick train to Dover area. The pub was fun and great food. We felt like locals by partaking in the Easter trivia night!! We knew this ahead of time and had no issues, but for your planning purposes-- the rooms are on the second floor above the pub area. Breakfast was very generous servings and great food. Staff assisted us with travel advice. We hope to visit again in the future."

"Churchill Guest House is charming. The room was comfortable and I loved the decor, including a beautiful fold out writing desk. Lovely garden view from the window, cosy radiator heating and lots of little touches like cocoa and biscuits and a bath robe. There is a variety of things to have for a self-catering breakfast. The lounge is very comfortable with lots of interesting books on the local area, and I spent an evening there learning about the local history happily ensconced in an over-stuffed chair. The house is decorated in a way that is congruent with the age of the house contributing to an atmosphere of the past, but with all the modern comforts. A wonderful old doll's house and cat and mouse coin bank amongst many other treasures to enjoy looking at. Affordable and comfortable, a short walk from the castle and shops. "
