"The property was absolutely beautiful. It was truly a living paradise. They kept the grounds and the pool very well maintained. They service the rooms daily, if you request it, meaning fresh linen on a daily basis. The property was absolutely perfect. However, it paled in comparison to the staff. "First visited nearly 30 years ago and have stayed several times since. It's a lovely hotel for a short stay and it has an amazing staff. The facilities are excellent, great for young families and can be lively in the evenings (ask for a room away from the music in need). The restaurants are all open attracting monkies, crows and sparrows so some surfaces are likely not very clean but generally not a nuisance. The hotel's reputation is well-deserved."

"Place had some age but it was still very charming and had a great view overlooking the water from our front sitting veranda. Breakfast left a little to be desired and are checking experience wasn't the best has it seemed like maybe the front staff was having a bad day. "We stayed in one of the beachfront rooms and it was extraordinarily fantastic. The price was absolutely fair for what we got, the food at the restaurant was excellent, the staff was wonderful from the first moment that we walked in and we were greeted by Atik. We can’t say enough good things about it and will definitely stay here again the next time that we are in Mombasa."

"We loved the room. It was a three bedroom pent house and it included a balcony view overlooking the ocean. I did not want to leave. I plan to come back and stay for a full week. Loved everything about our room and the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. "

"I got a very good offer to stay at the Royal Shaza suites and I am very happy to have chosen to stay here. The reception staff especially Emmanuel were very welcoming and helpful. I requested an early check in and early check out which were all accommodated for. The room was clean, spacious & quiet. I felt very safe at the property. The staff are very helpful and polite. I requested a very early breakfast for a few days which was accommodated for with no problem by the restaurant. Thanks to the chef and Charles, who served me almost every day of my stay. The laundry service are quick snd reasonably priced. There is a well equipped gym, several swimming pools, well maintained gardens and beach access to the ocean. "
