"This really should be 4 stars . Great room in a quaint seaside “villiage” Avalon, Catalina island. An hour from the mainland, Los Angeles! Older hotel; very clean; large room with King size bed. Ours had balcony with partial ocean view. Service and management were awesome . Highly recommended"

"Hotel Atwater is a revelation. Super clean, very helpful and kind staff, luxurious rooms. Not to mention the beach towels, gym access. and $30 breakfast credit. It is steps from the water and delicious eateries. I've stayed in every hotel in Avalon and this is tops. Will return!"

"This hotel and the staff are lovely. The rooms are quaint but perfect for a weekend getaway. The beds are comfortable, and they provide soft towels and little bathroom amenities. They have a beautiful terrance that overlooks the bay, and on Friday nights they offer a cheese and wine hour which was perfect after getting off the boat and starting our evening. The only downfall is how thin the walls are. If you do get a room by the stairs, and one near the lobby, you will hear everything. "
