Stayed here 20 months ago and I'm afraid the hotel has gone down and the prices up. Don't think it should be classed as five star anymore. Which is a shame because it is a beautiful place."

"It got off to an unfortunate start! I had stayed a few years ago and had a very nice clean warm room - this time when I arrived I had been given a very unattractive room and just felt very let down - there was even signs that someone had not flushed the lavatory. I felt so strongly I went down to reception and eventually spoke to someone in authority who was very understanding and helpful and moved me to another room - just like the one I had had before. So it turned out o.k. I think...

"My mum and I had a lovely stay at Ardoe! Our room was great, and we enjoyed drinks in the drawing room; the bartender was brilliant. Our meal was also fantastic, highly recommend treating yourself in their restaurant although they do also have bar meals. The only downside is that the swimming pool hosts so many lessons and also seems to attract a lot of local families, so we didn't have many opportunities to use the pool. We had to get up really early to use it before lessons started, but...
