"We were very happy with our stay at The Royal Oak Hotel in Cullen. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our meal at the hotel restaurant and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is on the main road but very near to the old centre of the fishing port. "

I went out early to run and felt safe. The locals were friendly. Lots of cute little restaurants and cafes. The Ship Inn restaurant was very good. I would stay again."

"This hotel is long overdue an overhaul and this year it was nice to see they’ve started it on some rooms. Worth a visit but don’t expect plush 4/5 star hotel. It’s dated but they seem to be improving things. Staff are lovely, pool is small and the lady who runs the pool does so with an iron fist and is sometimes over zealous. Amazing setting, great breakfast and average rooms. This year our mattress was in dire need of replacing but the room itself was clean and tidy. The entertainment is very...

"Stayed in this hotel a few times and have never had a problem. Rooms are lovely and the complimentary breakfast is very nice. Only issue I had was as our room was in the 4th floor it was very warm for me. It's for ne in the room with the central air on but I found myself sweating just walking from the room to the lift, I'll perhaps request a lower floor next time we stay here. "
