The hotel is set in a beautifully quiet and remote area, which makes it a perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle without the crowds. The peaceful surroundings and wide-open skies give it a unique charm, especially at night. The room I stayed in was spacious, well-appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The private hot tub outside was the highlight — soaking in the warmth under the stars was an unforgettable experience, especially when the Northern Lights made an appearance. The design of the rooms combines modern comfort with Icelandic charm, and everything was spotless and well-maintained. Breakfast was exceptional — a generous spread of fresh pastries, local cheeses, fruits, and hot items that changed daily. The on-site restaurant also served one of the best dinners I had in Iceland, with local specialties like Arctic char and lamb, all beautifully presented. Service was courteous and warm, and the staff made every effort to ensure guests were comfortable and well taken care of. It felt both luxurious and personal, which is a rare combination. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, and upscale stay in South Iceland — especially if you want to experience the Northern Lights in comfort — I highly recommend Hotel Grímsborgir. "The newly updated side of the Center's Plaza site is beautiful, clean, and in a great area for access to multiple destinations in Reykjavik. The staff is wonderful and helpful, and in the lobby is an opportunity to socialize in a clean, open environment. There is street noise at night which can't be heard with the windows closed, coming from a few local night clubs. Overall, a really great experience, and very clean. "

"The hotel is convenient because of the pickup drop off for tours location. I loved the view from the Tower. The breakfast had a good variety of food. We were able to find shortcuts to the main road in the city and it was definately walkable. "
