"Staff were great. Room was modern and location was great. Only thing is the check in time is really late for a hotel. They offered us a free drink but couldn’t use it until after check in. Given a lot of people arrive by train earlier in the day, although we could store our luggage, when we returned an hour before check-in to see if our room was ready, the free drink would’ve gone a long way rather than offering to charge us for an extra hour. "The Mitsui Garden was a wonderful place to stay. We were walking and touring around Kyoto all day and it was lovely to come home and relax in our room, use the onsen and sneak up to the nearby supermarket for snacks. Great location, lovely staff and a very nice environment."
