"For what I paid, the room was tremendous value. It consisted of all of the necessities, as well as a few perks I found unique compared to other places I've stayed at: 1) video on demand (great selection of anime movies for 500 yen) and 2) free shuttle bus to Gotemba Premium Outlet (the best outlet I've ever been to). Breakfast is free but I found it lacked in variety and quality (can't complain since the room was so inexpensive)."

"This hotel offered breathtaking views of the lake. My husband and I opted for a room with a private open air bath which was amazing. Note though that the bath only fits one person at a time, and there is no view of the lake which was disappointing. Instead we faced a weird parking lot. The staff is very kind and go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. The food has good options, but it is the same dishes everyday. The free wine and beer was a nice touch! "Post-card quality view of Mt. Fuji from the Fuji side. Brilliant. Also, Japanese style tatami mat rooms facing Mt. Fuji. The Western style rooms facing the lake are more comfortable but you miss the Mt. Fuji view."

"The Fujiya is an impressive and beautiful historic hotel. We stayed with our 5 month old baby in the Forest wing. The room itself was spacious and the decor in keeping with the Classical design of the hotel. I particularly enjoyed the onsen and the western breakfast (best breakfast of our trip). Would thoroughly recommend a stay here due to its history and grandeur!"
