"We were upgraded to one of the cottages by chance. It was cold in the room and overall it was ok. We had stayed also in the main hotel portion on our return to Reykjavik and enjoyed staying in the mail hotel more. Breakfast was typical for Icelandic hotels....but good. The room cost was reasonable, but you are located outside of the main area. This was ok for us since we were renting a car."

"The desk staff were fantastic, consistently friendly and helpful. The mattress was a little too firm for my tastes - I like them fairly firm, but not that much. There was a good number of pillows, of different thickness and firmness. There was hair clogged in the shower drain when I arrived, leading the tray to drain slowly and fill with water. There is a small kettle in the room, but the sink is very shallow and the kettle won't fit in it - the only way to get water into the kettle was to fill...

"It was what was expected of a hostel type room. The property was a bit outdated and rooms were a bit stuffy temperature wise, but staff did try to make our stay comfortable. Washer and dryer machines were iffy, but the detergent was included at least. We came during the winter, during their off peak season, and they were in the middle of renovations, so I cant fault them for that. Overall it met our needs."
