"The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s just off Dam Square and a stones throw from the Damrak. Amsterdam Centraal is right there as well. The area does get busy because of foot traffic but that was acceptable to us. The staff onsite were extremely helpful and friendly and there’s coffee and pastry available all day long. They checked us in early and on the day of our departure they held on to our luggage for us after checkout allowing us to roam around the city unencumbered....

It has charm and character as you would expect from an older building - if you are looking for double glazing and a more 'modern' hotel, then this is not for you. "Hotel was easy to find just 5 mins from central station. Location cannot be beaten, rooms are a little outdated and 1 of our party had an issue with their door which they couldn't fix, so had to be let in by reception every time they left the room. Staff friendly and polite, facilities were good. Don't expect the ritz but it's a great location on a budget."

"Hotel is in the center of the main street with lots of pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Close to central rail station and tourist boats. Across the street and down the narrow streets their are plenty of shops, bars and food venues as well as access to the red district. Hotel is an older building with narrow stairs and small elevator. Breakfast is included, generous and well look after. Rooms are small with minimal furnishings, good for short stays. Quiet at night with 24 hr front desk."
